Rob Nash

I’m a lead software developer with fifteen years shipping native apps, for startups, corporations, agencies, and my own products, in finance, healthcare, and aviation.

The tools can now write the code, so I built a studio around that. Since January 2026 Async Digital has run with AI agents as the engineering team and me as the engineer in charge: I set the architecture, write the briefs, and decide what ships. That has produced Audient on the Mac App Store, open-source Swift tools, a web app, and a book on the method, The One-Person Software Studio, to be published by Packt. An Apple TV app is in progress.

I read Biochemistry before I wrote software, and finished with a research masters. That’s a research project ending in a defence, not a taught course. You design the protocol, fix the pass mark before you start, and defend the result to specialists looking for the hole. The subject has nothing to do with software. The habit does: I don’t trust a check until I’ve seen it catch the problem it exists for.

The part that matters most is how the work gets checked. I don’t read every line. I built a system called Ordova to do that: agents that review the code, enforce the conventions, check the copy, and watch for drift. My job moved up a level, from writing the code to building the system that checks it. Every run still ends with me deciding whether to believe what came back. That call stays mine.
